Sew Friday

I've been sewing today! I have learnt from my friend Mel (I will link her blog when I work out how to, it's strange inspiration)
These skirts are so versatile, I love how you can line the hem with either ribbon or fabric, personally I am enjoying using a strip of coordinating fabric....can't wait to make more!

Suddenly Saturday

The weeks go by so fast. It is already Saturday! At the moment I'm enjoying watching Mia smear her face with cream cheese from her sandwich, her little hands are putting it everywhere! But she is having such a good time, I love watching her. Now, to clean up the mess!
I have finished a few big orders and have taken this time to create some new headbands and clips. I have a big order of new stock which should be arrive in the next week or so, some new beanies, crochet headbands and ribbons for clips. I can't wait to let the creative juices flow!
Here are some clips, hair ties and headbands from Mia Angel's "July range"

Simply sweet!

I have found the cutest little appliques, they are tiny little shimmery flowers with sparkly sequins nestled on top. The look gorgeous on little clippies!
Ive also been busy making some double boutique bows, and practicing different styles.....I would love to be able to do so much more, but with a little toddler into everything, it is hard!
I have my sewing corner blocked off, but somehow, she manages to sneak in there and find random pins and scissors!

Fabric headbands. I can make these for adults and children. All different fabrics! They are great because they stretch to fit, but hold their shape well.

This is a hair clip holder, I love making these in a range of different fabrics.

Hair clips

I love hairclips! Which is why I decided to start making them a few months ago. Now I can't get enough. Pity Mia hates wearing them, and headbands also. I look forward to the day when she loves pretty hair clips and will happily let me put some in her hair. Here are a few recent headbands and clips that I have made.

I learnt how to make "yoyo" fabric flowers, I LOVE them, they are so pretty and really stand out. I'm also into fabric covered buttons, I like how you can attatch them to hair ties, pins, headbands, anything really!

Another bib and headband

Here are a couple of things I made this morning, a bib and a headband. I enjoyed making these, and I'm going to make more with different fabric.

The beginning

When I went to buy some hair clips and headbands for my daughter, I realised that most of them were flowery, cheaply made, fell apart easily, and didn't match most of her outfits. So I decided to try to make a few for her. I wanted modern clips, but in colours that would match every day outfits. I became addicted, I love making clips. Then I began making headbands, and I have even tried beanies.
Here are some photos of some headbands that I have made, and bibs.
